After deciding to move back to her hometown and stay near her peach farmer boyfriend, Avoly knew all those years spent talking with her mom about opening a store were about to become a reality. Kimberly opened the first MeMe’s when Avoly was 11 years old. Now the search for the perfect location began. One day Avoly was boarding a flight when her phone began to ring. It was her mom; she had found the place. Avoly said yes with no hesitation! That’s when MeMe’s was born!
Two months later, inventory was purchased, renovations were complete, and their single employee was trained. For the first year and a half, Avoly was a full-time student and came home on weekends to work Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Kimberly was teaching 3rd grade, so she would work in the evenings until 1 or 2 am. Avoly's degree in Fashion Merchandising and Apparel Design and Kimberly's creativity and hard work make them a great team!
Almost five years later, the mother-daughter duo has connected with people by using social media to make shopping easier. Their goal is for the store to always be inviting and fun! Kimberly can effectively buy for her age group and Avoly buys for hers - this made their MeMe’s dreams come true, and an inviting, fun store where you can find something for mom and daughter.
